It finally decides and directed CBSE to not to make Aadhar card linking a mandatory for various all India entrance examinations. The five-judge Constitution bench involved Chief Justice Dipak Misra as the head. The bench then directed CBSE to update this information officially on its website as soon as possible.

NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD), Upendra Kushwaha, in Dec 2017, expressed his plan to set up a National Testing Agency (NTA).  NTA will be an autonomous and self- sustained premier testing organization, for conducting entrance exams for the higher educational institutions. But this procedure is currently in control of CBSE. NTA will make these tests shift from offline to online. And because exams will be conducted twice a year, it will help students by giving them an adequate opportunity to perform well. This new idea may also address the problem of year gap for students preparing for various entrance exams.

NEET is now applicable for NIOS  and Open School candidates

Earlier debarred from taking NEET, now NIOS and Open School candidates can apply for NEET exam. They can apply online for the upcoming NEET exam that will be conducted on May 6, 2018.
